knitted rings

Some more pictures of the knitted rings of the little collaboration (edit: this is no longer a collaboration, we have parted our ways since there is a disagreement on who owns designer-rights for a specific part of the design). In the picture below, you can see how the rings are sprued, ready to be casted! They look so delicate and hopefully they keep that appearance.
And here you can see how they look after the casting process, now they still have this beautiful white color which will disappear after transforming them into their final state. I wish that this white color could stay on there but even if you would leave it on it will disappear when you wear the ring. I think they still look very delicate and somewhat fragile, I can only dream how they would look in a nice rich yellow gold. - more pictures to come.

water towers

I love these water towers, and the best is that they are all over town!! This one is my daily view... I am trying to make a collection of photo's of all the nice ones I see. Got a lot of work to do then...;) Today was a slow day...some painting, some letter writing, trying to phone to Holland (but I guess they are all out enjoying the very hot weather while sitting on the nice terraces, I am jealous!).

the process

Just wanted to show you this picture of a little collaboration (edit: this is no longer a collaboration, we have parted our ways since there is a disagreement on who owns designer-rights for a specific part of the design). This is already stage 2 and hopefully it will make it to the next stage. When it is finished I will show some more. This is really fun to do , all the experimenting and trying out. The process of getting there might take a little longer then expected. You have this final image in your mind but somehow along the way it changes and becomes even more beautiful :)

in need for 'greens'

Dramatic sky!! Last weekend we went out of the city to breath some green air in a small botanical garden. After spending maybe half an hour walking trough the 'greens' we needed a little refreshment. Looking for a nice coffee place or some sort we soon found out we had no option but the usual Dunkin Donuts. We killed our time there, waiting for the next train to bring us back...
I was the last person to join Shari's compound word project. I am looking so much forward to the result already. And I am having some great ideas with my word :)

eating air

The days were nice and relaxed, the smell of summer was refreshing back home on the other side of the ocean, only to come back in the City and feel like I am eating air. That is how 'thick' it feels here... We spent some nice days visiting almost all parts of the country and catching up with family and friends. Visiting some galleries, the days were flying by! I need to get back in the rhythm here, organizing stuff, making my studio space look like a studio space again. (I started a clean up just before I left , and that says it all) and making the jewelry, people ordered from me :) I have an urge to paint and make other small stuff. Write letters and make new jewelry-designs. I hope it lasts a long time.
There was so much catching up to do with all the blogs of you guys that it will surely take me some more days to read it all. It feels good to be back and I'll try to post a little more regular.
